Umrah packages from the USA

Umrah from the United States, arranged in one conversation: the flights, a hotel in Makkah and a hotel in Madinah, the visa, the transfers and the train between the cities. Prices are read live and shown to you in dollars.

Where we fly you from

New York (JFK), Newark (EWR) and LaGuardia (LGA). Boston (BOS). Philadelphia (PHL). Baltimore (BWI) and Washington Dulles (IAD). Atlanta (ATL). Charlotte (CLT). Miami (MIA) and Orlando (MCO). Chicago (ORD). Detroit (DTW). Cleveland (CLE). Columbus (CMH). Minneapolis (MSP). Kansas City (MCI). Houston (IAH). Dallas (DFW). Austin (AUS). Denver (DEN). Phoenix (PHX). Los Angeles (LAX). San Diego (SAN). San Francisco (SFO). Seattle (SEA).

If you fly from a smaller airport, tell us where you are and we will work out the sensible connection rather than assume you can drive to a hub.

What the journey looks like

You fly into Jeddah (JED) for Makkah, or into Madinah (MED) to begin there, and home from the other end. From the United States this is a long day with a hub connection, so we plan the first night around arrival rather than pretending you will be ready for Tawaf an hour after landing. Ihram is entered before the meeqat, and the crew announce it on the approach into Jeddah. A vehicle meets you at the airport, and the move between the two cities is usually the Haramain train, roughly two to two and a half hours, with the station transfers included.

What is included

  • Return flights
  • Hotel nights in Makkah and in Madinah
  • The Umrah visa and the mandatory insurance issued with it
  • Airport transfers, and the move between the two cities by Haramain train or private vehicle
  • Guided Ziyarah, where your package includes it

Meals and gifts are personal spending on top unless your package says otherwise. Every package document lists what it holds, line by line, so nothing is assumed.

Your visa

Most travellers on a United States passport do not buy an Umrah visa at all. They enter on the Saudi eVisa, the tourist visa, on which performing Umrah is perfectly lawful outside the Hajj season. We read the right document for your passport from our own rate book and tell you which one you are travelling on before you pay for anything, rather than selling you a visa you do not need. Passports generally need at least six months validity, and meningococcal ACWY vaccination is the standard requirement. The full picture is on the Umrah visa page.

Where you will stay

A plan for an American family opens at a four or five-star hotel within walking distance of the Haram, because that is what most guests from the United States ask for. It is a starting point and never a ceiling: ask for the cheapest room on the street and that is what you will be shown, with an honest line about the walk it costs you. Every hotel is named, with its distance from the Haram and the reason it suits the people travelling.

Paying from the USA

Bookings from the United States are paid in full, due within three days, by card through our checkout or by bank transfer with the proof uploaded on your own package page. Instalments are a Pakistan option only.

Travelling with elders or children

A long-haul journey changes which hotel is the right one. For elders and anyone with limited mobility we look for a short step-free walk to the Haram rather than a cheaper hotel with a shuttle at both ends, lifts to every floor and a lower-floor room; wheelchairs and pushers are available at the Haram around the clock. For families we look for genuine family rooms or two connecting rooms rather than a room that technically sleeps four. Tell us who is coming before we choose.

Start your plan

Tell us the city you fly from, how many of you are travelling, when you want to go and how many nights you have. That is the whole checklist, and the package is built from live prices while you wait.
